Funky Reggae Party Weekend

Saturday night I went with Pee to a few reggae clubs.

First up was Irie Vibe. The club was full of people. The music at Irie Vibe was a modern version of reggae - dancehall? It was a nice club but not my idea of reggae.

I liked the other we visited, Reggae Romance. Here the music was a more mellow style reggae. For those romantically inclined there are secluded spots all around the beach to sit quietly with your significant other.

Sunday afternoon Club Cristi had a 1980s theme party. Would you believe Jason won the dress competition! He was dressed as a zombie from Michael Jackson's Thriller video.

Fancy Dancing

The last few days I have been visiting a few dancing places that require formal dress. They're a lot of fun! The music is nice and everyone is dressed so nicely.

I visited Phat Cat's but did not dance. I did not have much time and ended up chatting with a nice hostess who gave me a lot of advice and LMs to formal clothes stores in SL. Later I danced at Frank's Place. It was so nice to chat with the gentleman who asked me to dance in such a beautiful dance club.

Shopping for Skins an Shapes

I have been in Second Life the last few days but it has not been too exciting. I have been looking for a skin to call my own. I'm looking for a good Asian skin, any suggestions?

I have found several stores with good skins. The stores I like are D-Skin, B&B Skins, Celestial Studios and Minnu Model Skins. Within a week I hope to settle on a skin and shape.

A New Friend and House Music

Thursday night I met a new friend while dancing and Friday night she showed me her place. Her house in on the beach and it is beautiful. She likes art and said she would show me some art museums and galleries in SL.

Saturday I discovered house music and I like it. A friend TPed me to Dogglounge and we danced for a while. The music is hard to describe, electronic chill music that's looped with a dance beat to it. How's that? Later another friend gave me a LM for Sands House. Here are my feelings about each:

Dogglounge
I like it here, the deck outside is open and bright; just click on the dance floor to dance and enjoy. Dogglounge streams deep house 24/7, it looks like they have a live DJ sometimes but no one was there Saturday. A message board lets you know what song is playing as well as the previous song played. You can check the club out on the internet at Dogglounge.com .

Sands House
More of a domestic house setting than Dogglounge, which has a club atmosphere. The Sands dance floor is dark, at least it was the one time I was there. When I was there Sands had a live DJ, which is a good thing. I didn't see any mass dance ball s I had to use a dance animation on my own. Next time will look and ask for a dance ball.

I like both Dogglounge and Sands House and will probably spend some time at each place.

A Fun and Profitable Night Out

Last night started out slow. I went by Nyte N Day to see if there were any new clothes out and if there were any new freebies (there weren't any new freebies). I could not buy anything since I had so few Lindens but I really like all the clothes so it's fun to just look.

At 7:00pm I went to the Last Laugh Comedy Club, they had advertised an open mike night but no one was there. I guess the laugh was on me! lol

A friend IMed me and invited me over to Castle of Sweet Desires, a vamp night club. I'm not into the whole goth/vamp thing but it was fun. The people were nice and the music was by The Buzz, the same as at Club Cherri Red. Sweet Dreams won't be a hang-out for me but I will probably go back.

I ended the night with a few hours at Cherri Red. They had a trivia contest and I won L$175! Now maybe I will go back to Nyte and buy something. Oh, but ETD is having a hair sale starting Saturday. What's a girl to do?!

A Visit to Amsterdam

Last night on a whim I went to Amsterdam. I went alone and there were not many people there (bad time of day?) but it looked interesting and I plan on going back. I'm sorry I did not take any pictures since it was so dark and so few people there.

Without people out and about, the red light district was not too exciting. I basically checked out the sex shops which had some freebies. Speaking of freebies, there is a freebie section of Amsterdam so if you're on a budget then you may want to pay a visit.

Tonight back on the mainland I plan on visiting a comedy club and Club Cherri Red is having a trivia contest.

A Festivus for the rest of us!

Saturday afternoon Club Cherri Red had a Festivus party and it was a blast. The turnout was good and I came in fourth in the Feats of Strength, also known as mud wrestling. Now there were only four of us brave enough to enter the mud pit but it was a lot of fun nonetheless.

A big thank you to everyone at Cherri Red who organized the event.

Hello World!

A little over a week ago I joined Second Life and I have been having fun ever since. Second Life is an online virtual world where you can do just about whatever you can imagine. Create your avatar and then go meet people, go dancing, build your dream house or go shopping for new clothes; it's all up to you. There are so many places to go and people to meet you will not be bored.

With this blog and my photo blog you can catch a glimpse into my Second Life.
